Its a new year!

Andrew Fernandes

A new year - here we are at 2014!

Hope you all had a fantastic break and are refreshed for the year ahead. Christmas break for me was great! I actually made time to get some art in. I spent the festive period in Ireland with a wonderful quiet study to get my groove on. I have been getting to grips with my copic markers...oh how I love them so! Been focusing on working with more practical mediums as opposed to my normal digital art musings - for art that I can potentially sell.

I love all the work that Joe Vriens, Todd Nauck and Scott Blair do with copic markers, real masters of their craft! They really inspire me and I hope to reach their level of quality!

The festive season takes a slightly different meaning for me than most, as my birthday actually falls on the 26th of December, So yes, Ive also turned another year older...heres hoping a bit wiser too.

I guess I must be easy to buy for - as I received a huge collection of comic related swag!

Heres hoping 2014 is a year where I can share more arty goodness with you all!

Peace out cool cats!

Nearly there!

Andrew Fernandes

Its been a long time coming! I've been working on and off on a personal website for a while. Originally under my old URL of stryda.com . Would work on it in dribs and drabs - but never really gave it the focus and attention it needed to get it finished.

The procrastination on it got so bad it lead to me eventually losing my domain URL. Not actively checking my emails. - I was bummed originally, as its a domain I held for a while. But after letting the idea of it digest, I decided this was a good opportunity to start something fresh.

So - Sketchzero was born. I've been wanting a place to hold a lot of my new work. Especially as more people have been interested in my work from posting stuff on Instagram. I wanted a proper home for my work, a place to sell and even pick up paid commission requests. So I started on this project.

So over the last couple of months Ive concentrated on the ideas, designs and looked through the content for my page. I'm happy to say that I'm nearly there. A few more sections in the portfolio I haven't added yet - interactive and rich media. But to be fair, I have added quite a bit and am feeling happy with everything so far.

I've been really bad at keeping up with my posts on Instagram. A lot of that has been due to this project. But with it coming close to a finish. I think I can pick that up again and start gaining followers again instead of losing them. :(

Well, heres hoping to a positive start. Hope you all enjoy the site and follow me on this new venture of mine.

Peace out cool cats!

Andrew
